Street Art Tour of London
By EJS70 on February 19, 2016
We did this tour via a Groupon offer. It was the second tour we've done with the company, the previous one being the Chocolate tour.
We met at Shoreditch station as advised and made sure we were there in plenty of time. The group was quite large and we had two guides to lead us round.
Even though there was a lot of us, Rob and John did a fantastic job keeping us all together and we had no problem hearing their explanations about the art they were showing us.
They were both really knowledgeable about the area, the artists and their work and it was a really interesting afternoon.
There is so much to see it was impossible to cover it all in the two hours - around every corner and on almost every wall is artwork, ranging from very small subtle pieces that it would be easy to miss, to large images covering the whole of the sides of some buildings.
We will definitely be going back on our own for another look around.
I'd recommend this particular tour and will definitely watch out for others that they arrange.
Graffiti/Street Art Tour

We took this walking tour knowing very little about the genre.
Our guide was very personable and also audible! He gave us a lot of information in a short space of time. After viewing the first item I was already feeling well informed and curious about the culture and development of Street Art. Our Guide also told us extra bits of information about the history of the Shoreditch/Brick Lane area, and occasionally supported what he told us about the artists with some visual aids, and he did refer to a book if we wanted some further reading.
I should have liked an option to have a list of the artists names, so that I could look them up later on, but did take notes.
At the end of the tour he also offered us the chance for further questions and a chat if required.
We saw some fascinating works and came away impressed with some of the detail that the artists go to with their creations - use of fine brushes and ink. This isn't just a wild moment with a spray can. Also found out that some of the artists are actually commissioned by the local Authority to create works in certain places. It raised questions about Copyright and Ownership and how these people earn their money. Some Artists now have an income worth thousands of pounds. Totally fascinating. Suitable for all people, other than perhaps young children.
INSIGHT INTO STREET ART
By KROOPAK on February 18, 2016
The tour we went on was organised by Great British Tours and takes place at 3.00 p.m. from Shoreditch High St Station. We were in the hands of two lively and well informed young men. The tour lasted around 2 1/4 hours and covered a wide range of street art and artists. Both our guides were enthusiastic and amusing but took the group seriously in terms of safety and content of their presentations. If you like street art or are just curious, it's a must.
Street Art Tour with John

Really, really enjoyable tour with some incredible pieces of art. Educational and a brilliant experience. would definitely go again. John was a brilliant tour guide, told us anything and everything he knew about each piece (which proved to be a lot!) and answered any questions we had the entire time and was very friendly, funny and polite. He also provided directions of how to get back to the train stations and main streets afterwards and went out of his way to be helpful which was most appreciated.

Great tour, great guide.
This tour talks place around the fringes of the City of London, in Shoreditch and Brick Lane. The guide, John, was knowledgeable and had us well organised. The streets are narrow and congested but he guided us all (30) around safely and ensured we could all hear, and had time to take photos.
John discussed various aspects of street art, it's history, politics, economics and techniques, so I'm sure the tour would be of interest to a wide range of people.
I'd say that if you're looking for something to do that might be slightly out of your comfort zone, then this tour might be just the thing to open your eyes to something that currently you just skim past.
I know I'll look at this stuff through completely different eyes, and it's a whole new area of interest that I'll take with me on my travels elsewhere in the world.
Thanks for that John. Oh, and he's Scottish, with a great sense of humour too.

Great Street Art Tour of Shoreditch

Very enjoyable and informative tour showing the varied and ever changing street art scene around Shoreditch. Eddie our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and gave us lots of information about the street artists themselves. Also a great way to explore the facinating area of Shoreditch.
